Tournament Director: Julie Otto.
1. All matches, unless otherwise specified, are best two out of three sets with a 7-point tiebreaker played at six games all.
2. Balls are provided by the club. Please turn these in after your match is finished. They are used in consolation matches that follow.
3. The ten-minute warm-up rule is in effect.
4. The OTA 15 minute default rule is also in effect. This means that after your match has been called onto court that your team have 15 minutes to appear. If you or your partner is late in arriving you may be required to forfeit some/all of your warm up time. For self-run tournaments the same rule applies. If your opponent does not arrive within 15 minutes of the agreed upon start time you may default him.
5.The contact telephone number you have given us will be used to identify your initial match date/start time. Your initial start time will also be identified on the draw sheet in the clubhouse.
6. You may be asked to play a maximum of two full matches per day when involved in a weekend tournament.
7. If the weather appears questionable we ask you to come to the club at the time of your match anyway. The best way to ensure fair play is to have all competitors present if we should need to adjust start times.
8. Please, as a courtesy to your opponents, call out the score after every point.
9. Please return balls to other courts when play on their court is not in progress.
10. Matches prior to finals are not officiated formally. The Ontario Tennis Association does however recognize the use of ”court monitors” primarily for the judging of line calls and score keeping. At Tyandaga we value the policy of fair play, respect our opponents when questioning calls and respond with integrity rather than emotion at difficult moments. Please approach the Tournament Director if you need help in this regard.
