COVID-19 Rules Phase 2

Rules of Play

  • Singles and Doubles tennis for all members is allowed, following safe distancing protocols
  • Players must book online before play. Walk-on or Guests will not be permitted.
  • Spectators will not be allowed. Only members who have booked online will be permitted (see below re: parents accompanying children for lessons).
  • Limit sharing of balls while on court and more importantly, players should make liberal use of hand sanitizer before, during and after play.
  • There will be no Adult Leagues and Programs (round robins, leagues or tournaments) at this time.
  • There will be no social events at this time.
  • Only one person at the practice wall and only if he or she books it first
  • Members are requested to bring their own can of balls for use during the player’s service games. Use a permanent marker to initial your tennis balls.
  • Do not pick tennis balls up with your hands. Return balls using your racquet and/or foot.
  • Guests will not be permitted to play or watch.

Member Expectations

  • The clubhouse will be closed. There will be no access to the washrooms, water fountain.
  • To access the courts use the gate to the right of the clubhouse.
  • First aid supplies and defibrillator may be accessed through the club pro.
  • Stay home if you are sick or if you have had recent exposure to COVID-19 (See the Halton Public Health for details on self screening).
  • Bring your own hand sanitizer and use before and after using the gate code.
  • Do not shake hands after play.
  • Sneeze and cough into your elbow
  • Cross at opposite ends of the net during change of sides.
  • Do not share equipment such as racquets, ball clips.
  • Equipment such as squeegees and scoring towers will not be available for use. Ball tubes will only be used by the club pro and will be disinfected after every use.
  • Bring your own water.
  • If you bring anything into the tennis courts, it “must leave with you”. This includes the tops off tennis ball cans, water bottles, etc. We are a volunteer run facility with no cleaning staff.  Please don’t expect someone else to pick up after you.  All garbage and recycling containers have been removed.

Tennis Pro's Rules

  • Players only on court.
  • Bring your own Hand sanitizer when taking lessons. Sanitize before and after play.
  • Lessons will be scheduled 15 minutes apart to assure physical distancing guidelines are followed.
  • Social distancing requirements (2 meters) will be adhered to with private and semi-private and/or group lessons.
  • Private and semi-private lessons only (according to provincial and city guidelines) and as restrictions allow, up to 4 people for group lessons.
  • Juniors taking lessons and one parent will be expected to follow the Member Expectations (see above).
  • All equipment including ball tubes, top of nets and net posts will be sanitized between lessons.
  • Tennis balls will be handled by the Tennis Pro only.
  • Payment for all lessons to be made directly to the Pro.
  • A daily record of all lessons with dates, times and participants will be kept for contact tracing.
